Edge of Time

When I was approached by Disconforme for permission to re-issue "Edge of Time", I was at first a little reluctant. I felt that recording techniques had improved so much over the years, that I am singing in a way much more to my licking, really it was all history and I didn't want to look back!.

However, when I thought about taht time; England in seventies, I remembered what a very vital time it was in jazz. There were a lot of original things happening, some of wich were picked up by record companies, only for the albums to be deleted after a relatively short time, and in a lot of cases the original tapes lost.

"Edge of time" is a little piece of the history of English jazz with all the vitality of the time, featuring the writing of John Taylor, John Surman, John Warren and Neil Ardley, and the soloing of many of the great musicians who were, and still are involved in the London and international jazz scenes.
